If your income was $54,000 or less in 2007, you qualify to file your federal tax return electronicly for free directly using any of the IRS's Free File Alliance companies.
Most of those services can also e-file your state return for a few dollars.
If your income in 2007 was $30,000 or less, or if you were an active military member with an income $54,000 or less, Intuit offers free federal & state e-file.

State filing costs $14 per state.
If your tax return is straightforward, without complicated things such as itimizing and personal business income, TaxAct a good choice with a good review.
Turbotax Online free Federal Tax Filing, but they charge $31 or $35 to file a state return.
If your tax return is straightforward, their 1040EZ service works great online.
If you own a home or have donated goods or business expenses to deduct, their Deluxe online service for $50 plus $35 for state is a good choice.
No additional e-file fees when using these services - the e-file fee is included in the total fee.
Filing online also gives a quicker refund, typically within 1-3 weeks if the return has no errors, as opposed to regular mail which can take 4-8 weeks to process.
Many people in the US are eligible for $300, $600, or even $1200 from a tax rebate this year.
You need to file a Federal tax return to qualify for the rebate, even if you were not required to file one in previous years.
