Because it makes the iPhone a bit bulky and provides little actual protective shielding, this is probably not the kind of thing you want on your phone all the time. Amazon.com - 7" Portable TV for $77
Viore 7" Portable LCD TV (PLC7V95) for $77 with free shipping. It has a built-in digital tuner (ATSC), and includes a rechargeable battery, power adapter, tiny magnetic antenna, and remote control. Most of the reviews are positive, and could be a good deal for someone who needs a small/portable TV. The tiny antenna works okay, but would certainly work best if you're within 5 miles of the broadcast antennas.

It has a 1.5 hour battery life, so some people may find it useful at brief tailgate parties and picnics. As for a backup TV in case of a power outage, 1.5 hours is really not much. It also has a built-in USB port and Secure Digital card reader for playing digital photos (jpg), videos (divx), and music (mp3).

For $4 more, a Axion 7" Portable LCD TV is available. It has a better antenna and similar battery, but doesn't play MP3 and video files from memory cards.

This is really useful for people who need to transfer large amounts of data between locations and don't want to pay a premium for a portable drive, or for archiving old music, videos, and personal files onto hard drives.

Gone are the days of storing large amounts of cassette tapes of music, DVDs of movies & music files, and videotapes of home videos of the kids. Since everything is digital these days, you can simply store (or backup) all your home movies, digital photos, and music files onto a Serial-ATA hard drive. Eject the drive, place it into an anti-static bag, and keep it on the top shelf of your closet, a locked drawer, or in a safe for safe-keeping. Re-insert the drive whenever you need those files again.

If you have a desktop computer, try to use the eSATA interface if you can. Most desktop PC's have no eSATA port, but a Serial-ATA to eSATA bracket can be purchased for $7 after shipping fee, or this eSATA bracket (longer internal cables) from Newegg for $8 after standard shipping fee.

eSATA is much faster than USB when working with 3.5" drives. USB transfers up to 22 MBytes/sec (about 70GB per hour). eSATA transfers at about 40 to 85 MBytes/sec (depending on the speed of the drive), which is around 250GB per hour. An entire 1TB drive can be transferred in about 4 hours with eSATA. Hot-pluggable eSATA/Serial-ATA is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.

A dual-drive one is also available for around $50 after shipping fee.

The traffic updates help plan a route to avoid delays, however it's important to note some non-traffic related drawbacks about GPSs: they are meant to be used as a helper only. Directions in urban areas, especially where there are dozens of possible routes to the same destination, are not always the best routes for you. The GPS will often plan what it thinks is the shortest route, but may not know about traffic lights, vehicle restrictions, and other delays on surface roads versus highways/freeways. When it gives you directions, zoom out and pan around the area to see if there may be better roads to take than the ones it recommends.

25GB Blu-Ray BD-R discs are pretty expensive at about $1.50 to $4 per disc, and a 50GB BD-R disc costs as much as $50 per disc. At these prices, using portable USB drives are much easier ways to store and transfer data than Blu-Ray discs, and using a device which can stream videos onto the TV bypassing a DVD/Blu-Ray player will cost less than burning movies onto Blu-Ray discs. However if you really want to burn Blu-Ray discs, this is a great deal.

TrendNet TEW-637AP Wireless Access Point for wireless b/g/n. It's an access point only, and still requires a router on your network. It's designed to add or be an addition to your existing home network. It says the device can do wireless-n up to 300 megabits, but we were only able to achieve up to 120 megabits from a laptop. If you really want 300 megabits, you shouldn't expect to get that kind of reliable wireless performance from a $25 router. However as a simple wireless access point, $25 is an amazing deal.

Run a wired ethernet cable to another part of your home, just hook one of these up, and your home wifi range will be extended. Works great with wireless-g, but don't expect much out of wireless-n.

Depending on the drive, eSATA transfers at about 40 to 85 MBytes/sec, about 4GB per minute, or about 250GB per hour. An entire 1TB drive can be transferred in about 4 hours. Hot-pluggable eSATA/Serial-ATA is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs.

Those speeds are based on regular 3.5" drives manufactured within the last 4 years. Tiny laptop 2.5" drives perform about half to one-third these speeds.

It is labeled as a "gaming" router, which basically means it has built-in QoS (quality of service) for gaming apps, to improve their performance by using its processor to assign higher priority to those packets than regular browsing, email, and download packets. In reality its processor improves all Internet performance, regardless whether you play games. If you're looking for one of the best consumer routers on the market today, this may be it, if you are willing to pay the hefty price tag.

This router is really meant for someone with a very high speed home Internet connection, 5 megabit minimum, or at least 8 megabit downloads and at least 1 megabit uploads. We used this router for over a year on a 20 megabit cable modem without any problems, and connect to it with Wireless-G at 54-megabits, Wireless-N at 300 megabits, and to wired computers at gigabit speeds.

If you do need a powerful Internet wired router but do not need wireless (like if you already have a wireless router or wireless access point), a D-Link DGL-4100 Router for $80 and has a $20 mail-in rebate, lacks Wireless and no LED display, but otherwise is identical.

A router like this will not improve the speed of your PC, however. It is normal for Windows computers to collect spyware and adware over time which slows down PCs, and it is best to occasionally inoculate your PC. The place you bought your PC has anti-spyware software available, or download a free program like Spybot Search & Destroy or AVG Anti-Virus Free.

D-Link DGL-4100 Router with 4 Gigabit LAN and 1 Gigabit WAN port. It does not support any wireless (wifi) so this is not a "wireless router"; It's meant for use on wired networks only. The performance of this router is very good, probably one of the best consumer routers on the market. If you already have a wireless router or a wireless access point, you can use that for wireless devices only, and use this DGL-4100 for Internet routing and firewalling. If you do so, make sure to disable the DHCP server on the wireless router and change its IP address, so it does not conflict with this DGL-4100.

How To Find out Newegg's Delivery Time: Newegg says "guaranteed 3-day delivery" when selecting UPS ground, but are you curious how long a Newegg order will really take to arrive before you place the order? Here's how to find out, but be very careful not to click "submit order" when doing this!
1. Add an item to your cart, press "checkout".
2. Log in.
3. Enter your credit card information, and press "continue"
4. On the final checkout page, be careful to not to accidentally click "submit order". Look at the shipping method for "UPS Ground", and see the "estimated day delivery". An example here.
5. Move away from that page before someone accidentally submits the order. Easiest way is to press the "back" button on your browser.
This "estimated" delivery means how quickly the order will arrive. This is based on which warehouse they ship the order from, and how long it takes UPS to deliver the order via Ground Shipping from that warehouse location. In our example, we see a "1 day delivery", meaning the item will ship from a warehouse very near us, and takes UPS only 1 day to deliver it. This is very useful to know when you need something quick, and don't feel like spending $20 for next-day delivery especially when free ground shipping will deliver it in 1 day.

If you need something from Newegg by Christmas, it may not be too late to get it by Thursday with UPS Ground. If you too see "1 day delivery" on the final checkout page, orders placed by Wednesday morning will be delivered by Thursday afternoon.

Weather and other factors not at Newegg's fault may delay shipping until after Christmas, but UPS is usually very good at delivering packages on schedule. Newegg usually ships orders same day only when placed in the morning.
