| Details: | Thermaltake BlacX Serial-ATA Hard Drive Docking Station $30 after rebate (expired: 4/30) $40 with free shipping coupon EMCAECECE and a $10 mail-in rebate is available. This device can be very useful for some people. It is a docking station for Serial-ATA hard drives, plugs into a PC or Mac's USB port. Being able to slide in any Serial-ATA hard drive means you can create disks full of music, videos, pictures, and backups, then eject the drive and store it in a safe place. For example, say you filmed several hours of videos with your digital camcorder and do not want those video taking up space on your computer's internal drive, you can store all those videos on another Serial-ATA hard drive with this docking station, then eject the drive and store it in an anti-static bag in a safe place, easily accessible any time you need it later. A hard drive can store stuff easier than burning DVDs, and being able to quickly slide in & out hard drives without rebooting the computer can be very handy for some people with lots of data storage needs. Most other stores sell it for around $45, and few stores have it in stock. Important note. The rebate must be mailed within 20 days after purchase, which gives you only 2 weeks after receiving the product to complete the rebate. |

| Advisory: | This deal requires the customer to mail in at least one rebate. Make sure that you save a copy of the rebate form immediately, just in case they take the rebate form offline. It is also recommended that you mail in the rebate immediately after receipt of the item, otherwise you might forget to do so. And you should mark the maximum date that your check is expected to arrive, so that you follow up with the company if you do not receive the check in time. Rebates can be annoying, time consuming, and require a responsible person to follow the tedious rebate instructions. And, this involves the possible risk of the customer fulfilling the rebate requirements but the company choosing not to send the customer a rebate check for any reason. The more well-known or reputable the company is (the company itself, not the company's products), the more likely it is that you will get your rebate. If the rebate is from a company that you've never heard of, of if you question the company's business practices, chances are high that you will never see a rebate check. Understand that dealing with rebates are risky, so ask yourself if the product is worth full price in case you never receive a rebate check. |
