Details: | Laptop Backpack for $41 (repost) ![]() Targus HP600 Evolution Nylon Backpack on sale for $28, plus $13 shipping for one ($41). If you order more than one, shipping adds $5 for each additional ($74 for 2, $107 for 3, etc). Other stores sell it for around $79 each. Onecall is an excellent online store with great customer service. ![]() We used 2 of these laptop backpacks for 18 months, and still and love them. It has excellent padding for laptops, and has plenty of room for an extra battery, mouse, and power cord. As a backpack, it is not as stylish as a traditional laptop attache case, but its plain black color does not look too awkward even with a business suit. ![]() Some people complain that the rough material on the inside of the bag can produce scratches on the outside of the laptop, screen side. If someone's laptop really is that fragile, then it seems that issue can be prevented by placing a piece of paper or a thin file folder between the laptop and the bag's interior. ![]() Some stores seem to have a tiny HP logo on the front of the pack, but ours ordered from OneCall have no logo. ![]() Update (1pm EDT): We confirmed these bags still have no HP logo. Here is what OneCall said: "They do not sport a Targus or an HP logo and there are a percentage of people that prefer a non-branded backpack as it doesn't scream, 'steal me, I have a laptop inside me'." ![]() Apparently, two years ago Hewlett Packard dropped Targus as their laptop backpack manufacturer, and Targus was forced to liquidate their supply of these backpacks. Onecall purchased hundreds of these backpacks from Targus through an exclusive relationship, thinking they would sell quickly. However sales struggled because Onecall does not sell computer products, and are not a popular destination for laptop backpacks. While shopping for a laptop backpack for Mother's Day, we were shocked to find this deal still available 2 years after we first found it. |
