Details:Logitech Harmony 880 Universal Remote for $109 after rebate
(expired: 6/7 coupon expired)

(repost)

This is a great deal. Dell Home has the Logitech Harmony 880 Universal Remote Control for $249 with free shipping. Coupon code LWLCHHGG9Q7C9W gives $120 off, making it $129. And a $20 mail-in rebate is available, making $109 the cheapest I've ever seen on this remote control. And you can get another 2% off if you purchase with a Dell Preferred Account (Dell's credit card). This is a great deal, since all other stores sell it for around $160 to $200. This deal is expected to expire by tomorrow morning, but I will be shocked if it lasts that long.

It is probably the best remote control on the market today, and controls nearly anything that can be controlled by an IR remote, including HDTVs, Receivers, DVD players, and even some air conditioners and lighting controls.

Purchasers of this remote may find an images package useful for labeling some buttons with 2 pages of channel logos, like what I did here. It is useful when a visitor does not know the channel lineup, they just press the "media" button and press the logo of the channel they want to watch.

For someone who wants a good remote at a fraction of the cost, the Harmony 628 is a good choice at $45 from Amazon.com.

Advisory: This deal requires the customer to mail in at least one rebate. Make sure that you save a copy of the rebate form immediately, just in case they take the rebate form offline. It is also recommended that you mail in the rebate immediately after receipt of the item, otherwise you might forget to do so. And you should mark the maximum date that your check is expected to arrive, so that you follow up with the company if you do not receive the check in time. Rebates can be annoying, time consuming, and require a responsible person to follow the tedious rebate instructions. And, this involves the possible risk of the customer fulfilling the rebate requirements but the company choosing not to send the customer a rebate check for any reason. The more well-known or reputable the company is (the company itself, not the company's products), the more likely it is that you will get your rebate. If the rebate is from a company that you've never heard of, of if you question the company's business practices, chances are high that you will never see a rebate check. Understand that dealing with rebates are risky, so ask yourself if the product is worth full price in case you never receive a rebate check.
