| Details: | 32" LCD HDTV $900 (expired) (repost) Costco mailed a few coupons to their members recently, one coupon included was a $100 off Proview 32" LCD HDTV coupon, making it cost $900 in-store. Coupon in valid July 5 through July 10. To get this deal, I don't know if they will accept a printout of the coupon, or if you need to bring in the original mailed coupon. If you did not receive a coupon, walk into the store and ask them to give you one. That's an excellent deal on a 32" LCD HDTV. The specs of the screen look pretty good, with 1366x768 resolution, 800:1 Contrast Ratio, and 16ms Response Time. The Proview specs are not as good as the Syntax Olevia 32" LCD HDTV that is posted here once in a while for under $1200. The Syntax has 1200:1 Contrast Ratio and and 8ms Response Time, which makes it the best specs on a 32" LCD HDTV in its price range. The Syntax comes with a 1 year warranty, but that warranty can be extended to 4 years Premium Coverage (includes the LCD screen) for an additional $449. In my (humble) opinion, I recommend extending the warranty of an LCD or Plasma screen beyond 1 year, because LCDs and Plasmas are far more likely to break than an older tube television. That means you can get the Syntax Olevia 32" LCD HDTV for around $1600-1700 online, which includes the price of the screen and a 4 year warranty. Or, you can get the Proview 32" LCD from a Costco store for $900 which includes a 5 year "No Questions Asked" return policy as long as you do not lose your receipts. That means you can purchase the Proview 32" LCD this July for $900 in-store, and have the ability to return it for any reason within 5 years, even if you break the unit. I think this is a hot deal. Update (6/9): If you visit the customer service counter at the Costco store, they will give you this season's coupon book which contains this HDTV coupon as well as other good coupons. The checkout counter will not accept a printout of the coupon, especially since the coupon is double sided. Update (6/9): Product details are now available at Costco.com. This deal is available both online & in-store July 5-10. |
