Better than my original
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had never used insignia before and only used dynex for all of my micro usb devices prior to getting this brand for my first apple product. I HIGHLY recommend both brands. I can only attest to using dynex micro usb for so long (and not their lightning cables) but for the short time i have used it, this brand for apple products actually works and charges fast as well. Better than the one i had from the start. Im not sure of the charge time difference ( and cannot compare since one is micro and the other is lightning) but they both charge fairly well for sure. Heres some technical aspects of both, since they are similar yet different in appearance. (Points are based off my experience using them in the Quirky pick up 6000 mAh power bank) Build: The cords are sturdy enough definitely. When both are plugged into my portable charger, if i drop it but manage to catch it by the cords they dont fall out normally (depending how fast its falling or where it fell from) But if jerked they MAY fall out, so 4 out of 5 points there. USB side plugged in: When tugged/ pulled on with normal force, dynex comes out faster than the insignia, nice job there. BUT when the cord is pulled or jerked with light force repeatedly, they both remain in place, 5/5 Lightning / micro usb side plugged in: Though they both hold pretty strong to the devices themselves, the insignia definitely holds stronger but you wont be disappointed with either. In the end its really all about your day to day use. still 5/5 Side Note: Not sure if the dynex brand would produce the same results for lightning cables as it does for their micro usb (in terms of my personal experience with what i reviewed above) but cant see how they would differ being from the same brand, you will need to go over to that review to see. Apparently lifeproof case users need to seek elsewhere with complaints about problems with the fit. And of course Color/Color options: Its not a straight blue like the Disney logo or a colored pencil but more of a Deep sea blue green, just more blue than green. Its very nice in case you dont want a color thats too bright then this is perfect. This just gets them bonus points really, plus im an artist, gotta have color. Bottom Line: Overall i am happy with the purchase and glad to know they are both still being sold! If Dynex still sells lightning cables by the time i need a new one (which wont be for awhile im hoping) ill have to test those out and see if they can beat these. So far no regrets. (shown in picture: Insignia blue on left, Dynex on right)

Good Product!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this thing works. Insignia is the brand like my tv before which serves me well. With this i have to say well made. But its still early...bought cable from amazon before and nothing lasts for a year, sad! I’ll update this once it reaches 6mos

Q: Question( iPhone 5c ) Is it true that this Insignia brand can wear your battery out on phone faster because it is not an actual APPLE iPhone product? Lady at ATT store tried to tell me that!
Asked by FLGAL12345.
- A:Answer The key here is the cable is MFi (Made for Apple) certified. This means it was made to specs provided by Apple and should be fine. In reading about the issue it not so much the cable as the charger you use. I would stick with Apple chargers which do a better job of regulating the voltage to the phone and prevents damage to the IC2 chip.

- A:Answer The cables are certifed. Look at the back of the package..the white rectangle box that says Made for Ipod, Iphone and Ipad....that's what you see with Apple MFi certfied cables. You can also check on the apple website. For example, the model number for red cable is NS-6A5 on page 4 when you search insignia. https://mfi.apple.com/MFiWeb/getAPS
