Overall, if you install this with guidance from the app, it's not too difficult. It will guide you through most of the steps, with ONE IMPORTANT EXCEPTION. Since LED lights have different parameters, the master switch comes with a dimming wheel that you can set to the specificity of your lighting system. That means that if you dim your lights down low, some LEDs will flicker because of the way they draw power, creating a strobe effect. The wheel allows you to dial in to the appropriate amount of power for the dimmest setting and is a great (and necessary) feature of the switch.
Unfortunately, as of April 2020, the app doesn't bother to tell you this until the system is fully in place and most people will have screwed the switches into place and potentially put the switch plate on. So, when you are installing and have tested the switch with power, VERY carefully pull the master switch out, dim the lights to the lowest setting. If the lights flicker, move the wheel on the bottom back of the master switch until you get the dimmest light with no flickering. Then you can fully install the switch.
Functionality with Alexa and Google Assistant are great and the feel of the switches are good too. So other than a slightly more challenging installation, these switches are wonderful.
Pros
- Quality is great, button presses do feel strong and does not feel like it will wear out
- Great installation App, Walked me right through and was able to install easy.
- Works with Alexa flawlessly.
Cons
- Though people like that it doesn't require a hub, it would be nice if this had integration with Smartthings. Though you can create a virtual switch within Smartthings, You cannot control the dimming feature.
- Buttons are kind of small, I've noticed that I'm trying to feel for the power button in a dark room. Wish it had a more similar design like the Belkin Dimmer switch where it resembled more of a rocker style where you can just push and slide your finger for the dimming preference.

Here's what happened...
I was looking for a 3-way dimmer switch, that would be LED + wifi compatible and would work with Alexa. I usually go with other brands but there are very few options when it comes to 3-way dimmer switches and this switch was one of two switches I found. Since it was decently priced, had a $5 coupon available and would be delivered via Prime, I added a few to my cart and checked out with a smile on my face, thinking I got a good deal.
Boy, was I in for a surprise!
I bought 4 of these switches and couldn't wait to install them. The installation was pretty straightforward and no different from any other smart switch. The only difference is that this kit comes with two switches. The master switch has a blinking yellow light and the secondary doesn't, which helps identifying the device you need to pair. After installing the switches, the LED lights are either on at full blast or not on at all and you can't control them with the switch itself, which is very strange. You have to first register the switch with their mobile app for it to respond to its own buttons. Because of that, I thought I may have incorrectly wired up the switch but after going through the mobile setup process, I was able to control the lights.
But I wasn't the only one controlling the lights!
It turns out, every switch but one randomly turns on & off every few minutes which has my young kids utterly terrified. They live in fear of the "ghost lights", as they have called them, and they don't want to leave their bedrooms.
It doesn't matter how I try to control the switches - whether it's directly on the switch, the app or Alexa - they cycle on & off at random times. I now avoid touching these lights, which makes them pretty much worthless. The problem is that even if I avoid touching them, they still turn on ON THEIR OWN. Ugh! Since I can't rip them out of the wall, the only way to "turn them off" is to bring the brightness all the way down so that if they do turn on, we don't see the lights coming on.
If that wasn't bad enough...
...the secondary switch on two of the switches doesn't work at all. The green indicator light is on but no matter how many times you press the button, it does absolutely nothing. Did I mention they were worthless?
Now it also has me thinking that the one working switch is very likely a fluke. I feel it's only a matter of time before it starts acting up too! Every time it comes on, you can't help but glance over to see if someone actually or turned it on or if it's like all the other switches with a mind of their own.
For our sanity, we will be returning all the lights and purchasing another brand. The Treatlife switches have been great but they don't have a 3-way LED dimmer switch option yet. I reached out to them and they said that their engineers were working on one but they didn't have a date on when they'd be available. Leviton does have a 3-way switch with a separate remote switch you can purchase as a secondary. I just bought both and look forward to getting rid of the ghost switches for good. Now that brings a smile to my face!
Top reviews from other countries
although all the other switches 7 single poles and 4 standard 3 way switches are working fantastic without hitch. i think they just missed the mark on q/c on the 3 way dimmers'
they are, as far as i can tell, first to market for dimmer 3 way smart switches that don't use a battery style slave switch.
like the header says, these switches will randomly on/off sporadically throughout usage.. ive had them on in the middle of the night like party time until i took them out due to frustration.
oh, and the screws that they include are the wrong thread pitch for NA, they are a metric fastener so do not install them into your device box unless you feel like dealing with pulled threads.
will update post later with warranty switches if they work properly or are all over the place like these.
** update ***
after emailing meross directly i was sent a set of new switches that arrived within 3 days. new switches were obviously newer build as wires were tinned and packaging was slightly different. installed new switches into my gangs. now every light switch on my main floor operates correctly. no random flickering.. dimmable all the way down. my electrician that ran wiring was over checking out the setup and was impressed for cost.
great option for those that are willing to risk a bit of a gamble on old/new stock. Im a diy hands on guy so replacing a switch isn't a big deal for me..
note they are larger switches so if you are doing new install for device box i would suggest getting the deepest box available as the wires get messy when more then 2 devices per device box.
Setup was as straight forward as any other smart switch I have installed. This does unfortunately use pigtail connections which I dislike as each connection needs a separate marrette, taking up vital room in an already cramped electrical box. It is possible to fit these into a single electrical box, but you have to be mindful of where you put things, and cram everything to the back. It's a tight fit, but it's doable.
Adding this to the app was as simple as adding them to my existing Tuya Smart Life app. I like having things I can add into my Smart Life app, and it was very simple to do. My Tuya integration on Home Assistant picked this up instantly, and I was good to go.
The customer support is so appalling it is ridiculous. emailed them over 2 weeks ago about switches not coming back online after internet and or power failures. I have to actually reset each device back to factory default and go through not just the configuration but also the naming of each device. Yes.... I am still waiting for a response. The last email I sent was 4 days before I wrote this product review.
I have already started the process with amazon to return the products that I can and those I can't will still be swapped out for the RELIABLE brands such as TP-link.
Really a shame as I like everything about them except customer support and that the switches do not come on after any disruption to power or wifi
¤¤¤¤ UPDATE Oct 07 2021 ¤¤¤¤¤¤
So apart from above issue 1 3-way switch (Mss570 the master) had been acting funny taking a while to light up through Alexa commands. Yesterday, it just blew. I heard the relay click rapidly and then no power. Tried to reset switch but completely dead. I have no place here to even return the product purchased first week of June 2021.......... Where is the warranty for these switches? So Disappointing
